Nanoleaf Lines let you create your own smart home lighting design
Nanoleaf has released Lines, modular backlit LED strip lights that provide an ambient glow. Both the layout and light settings are highly personalisable.
Users create their unique design, connecting up to 18 Lines per 42 W power supply and 250 in total. They can use Nanoleaf's AR app to check how their design will look before linking the panels together using the Mounting Connectors provided and simply affixing to the wall with the included mounting tape. There are over 16 million colours available. Alternatively, users can opt for dynamic RGBW lighting scenes, choosing from 19 pre-sets or creating their own.
The Lines have a Screen Mirror feature that syncs the lights with your screen for an immersive movie night or gaming experience. The Rhythm Music Visualiser makes your Lines 'dance' in time with your favourite tunes.
Each Line is 11 in long (~28 cm), 0.78 in wide (~2 cm), and has a low profile sitting 0.31 in (~1 cm) off the wall. The Line emits 20 lumens, has a colour temperature ranging from 1,200 K to 6,500 K and consumes 2 W energy at maximum. It is worth noting that Lines are not compatible with 5 GHz Wi-Fi, so users will need to use 2.4 GHz instead.
Lines are compatible with many smart home voice assistants, including Razer Chroma and Amazon Alexa. Users can also control their lights using Nanoleaf's app.
The Nanoleaf Lines Smarter Kit is available to pre-order for US$199.99 (~€172). Nanoleaf expects to start shipping in mid-November.
