The Movano Evie Ring is now available to order in the US. The smart ring, designed for women, has an unusual "open" design, which the company says helps accommodate typical finger size fluctuations. Integrated sensors measure biometrics such as heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), respiration rate and skin temperature.
You can also use the Evie Ring to track your sleep cycles, exercise, step count and calorie burn. Plus, users can log information about their mood or menstrual symptoms in the accompanying app for further health and wellness tracking. You can also use the app to view AI insights drawn from a range of data, with notifications like the following: "We've noticed your mood improves when you get 1000 more steps than your average" or "Your sleep may be interrupted during this phase of your menstrual cycle due to a dip in progesterone". Plus, you can set and track goals in the app, with targets intelligently adjusted if you consistently over or underachieve. It is worth noting that the app is currently only available for iOS; the company has not provided a timeline for an Android version.
The Evie Ring has over four days of battery life, fully recharging in an hour. You can now buy the Movano smart ring for US$269 without subscription fees. The company expects to ship its smart ring to customers in January 2024, with free delivery within the US. If you add a free ring sizing kit to your purchase, this will be shipped within seven days of your order. You can then confirm your size via email. It remains to be seen when the Evie Ring could launch in other markets.
