Motorola had planned to open Razr 2019 pre-orders in the United States on December 26, 2019. However, the OEM has now pushed this event, as well as its subsequent launch, back to an unspecified date. This is said to be due to unexpected levels of interest in buying the foldable phone.

The Motorola Razr has recently been announced as the first phone that will bring foldable technology to this phone series' iconic clamshell form-factor. It had been slated to go up for pre-sale on December 26, 2019. However, its maker has just announced that this event has been re-scheduled.

The new Razr's launch event had also been intended to take place in January 2020. This, however, has also been put off by Motorola. The OEM has cited "unparalleled excitement and interest from consumers" in an official statement explaining this move. Accordingly, its decision has been made to ensure stock levels match this potential demand.

Therefore, the Motorola Razr 2019 - or Razr 2020, as it probably should now be known - will probably not be available to order until well into the next year. Therefore, those interested in resurrecting the classic gesture (and sound) of closing a flip phone in the most state-of-the art manner possible will now have to wait even longer to do so.
