Motorola has kicked off its latest Moto G smartphone refresh with the Moto G05 and Moto G15, which it positions as direct successors to the Moto G04 and Moto G14 (curr. $116.54 on Amazon). However, while Motorola distinguishes the Moto G04 and Moto G14 in various areas, the Moto G05 and Moto G15 are broadly the same device.
For instance, both measure 165.7 x 76 x 8.2 mm and contain a 6.67-inch IPS display. Likewise, the pair feature an identical 50 MP primary camera, as well as a MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme chipset and a 5,200 mAh battery capable of 18 W wired charging. Incidentally, while the Moto G05 and Moto G15 also utilise 8 MP front-facing cameras, they have f/2.05 and f/2.1 apertures, respectively.
Similarly, Motorola installs a 720p and 90 Hz display inside the Moto G05. By contrast, the Moto G15's display outputs at 1080p, albeit with a 60 Hz peak refresh rate. The Moto G15 contains a 5 MP ultra-wide-angle camera (f/2.4) that the Moto G05 completely misses out on, though.
The Moto G05 and Moto G15 are already orderable across Europe and the UK. At the time of writing, only €20/£20 separates the pair at £109.99/€129.99 (~$137) for the Moto G05 and £129.99/€149.99 (~$157) for the Moto G15. With that being said, that price gap also includes twice as much RAM in the Moto G15's favour. Please see Motorola's websites linked below for more details.
