The Moto Z2 Play is currently available for just $349.99, $150 off its MSRP.

Valentine's day comes with with a few great smartphone deals, as, for some reason, OEMs believe smartphones make for excellent Valentine gifts. Last week, the HTC U11 saw a temporary price slash in the US that will run until February 15. This time out, it's Motorola offering a tasty discount, with the Moto Z2 Play now available for US$349.99, U$150 off its regular retail price.

The Z2 Play was launched back in June last year, and it certainly is capable, if a tad pricey. At its MSRP of $500, it's a tough sell, but for US$350, it becomes decent value for money. The device features a 5.5-inch FHD AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 626, up to 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, a 12 MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, and a 3000 mAh battery. Not an overwhelming package, especially in 2018, but one that will do a fine job for most.

There's no exact date for when the deal ends but we expect it to run until Valentine. Perhaps on February 15, like with the HTC U11?

For those looking for something a bit more spectacular, the Moto X4 is an upgrade in almost every department and also costs U$349.99—as low as US$250 on Project Fi. We believe that to be much better bang for your buck.

More deals from other OEMs will likely be on offer this week, so we'll be sure to keep you updated.
