More EV price drops: Rivian cuts R1S and R1T rates in US and Canada by massively reducing upgrade costs
Another day, another EV price drop. A few days after we reported Ford’s 0% APR offer for the Mustang Mach-E, it appears Rivian is now offering steep discounts on the 2023 and 2024 Rivian R1T and R1S EVs. The rate cuts affect the upgrade options like Large Battery Pack and Quad-Motor available on the existing inventory and not upgrades for the custom orders.
2023 and 2024 Rivian R1T
Going into detail, the 2023 Rivian R1T in the US now comes with the Performance Dual-Motor without any additional cost while the Large battery option now costs only $5,100, translating into discounts of $5,000 and $4,000 respectively. The Large battery pack option for the 2024 Rivian R1T is now available for $3,100 and $5,100 with the Dual-Motor and Performance Dual-Motor/Quad-Motor configurations respectively.
Canadian buyers will also enjoy the price cuts as the 2023 Rivian R1T with the Large battery option now costs $3,000, a whopping discount of $11,500, while the 2024 model’s Large battery pack upgrade is priced around $6,000 down from $14,500 when ordered from the available inventory.
When it comes to Quad-Motor upgrades for the 2023 and the 2024 Rivian R1T EVs, the option on the 2023 and the 2024 models is available at discounts of $4,500 and $1,500 respectively.
2023 and 2024 Rivian R1S
Rivian has also priced down the upgrades for the 2023 and 2024 models of the R1S SUV for both US and Canadian markets.
Starting with the US, the Quad-Motor upgrade for both R1S models now costs $6,000, a reduction of $2,000. Similarly, the Large battery pack upgrade option has also been subject to a $2,000 cut and now costs only $7,100 for both model years.
Finally, if you want to go the Max battery route, Rivian is now offering a $4,000 discount for 2023 and 2024 R1S, resulting in the final price of $15,100.
It is important to reiterate that these latest Rivian R1S and R1T price adjustments don’t apply to custom orders and are only available on the existing inventory. Nevertheless, the discounts are quite substantial and make the EVs a much better deal.
