In a post already taken down by Elon Musk's X platform, the new Model 3 Ludicrous/Performance trim was given the preview treatment. For the first time, it was from inside, with an interface walkthrough.

The upcoming 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous sports sedan has been filmed from the inside for a change.

Instead of the bucket seats and carbon fiber dashboard, however, this time it is the interface of the new Performance trim that gets a preview, and reveals some interesting tidbits about the new 600HP Tesla.

First off, the interface shows Insane Acceleration and Track Mode options, which are reserved for Tesla cars with the Performance or Plaid badge. Track Mode, which adjusts stability, traction, cooling, and braking for close circuit laps, has been present on the original Performance Model 3, indicating that this is the real deal.

There is no Ludicrous or Ludicrous+ acceleration mode visible in the interface, so the actual badging may still be up in the air, or not showing up on the test mule software.

There is, however, Sports ride mode, likely adaptive dampening, but no height adjustment, so the 2024 Model 3 Performance isn't coming with air suspension. From previous leaks, it does sit quite a bit lower than the current Model 3 Highland trims, as can be expected from a car that could probably do 0-60 in less than 3 seconds.

Another interesting option is the "Autoshift between D/R" mode which is not even in beta like the known "Autoshift out of park" feature, but marked for developers only. When toggled, the Tesla Model 3 shifts automatically between forward and reverse by reading its surroundings.

Earlier this month, Teslascope teased that "Tesla has been working on significant upgrades to their 'Auto Shift' functionality," adding that "the necessity to swipe on the screen will be heavily reduced," and that might be it.

It is not clear if and what of all these options in the menu will make it to the final retail Model 3 Performance when it is released in May.
