Mobile Pixels has launched a fundraising campaign for its mobile Tetra Keyboard and Monitor all-in-one on Kibidango. The combination device has magnetic left and right keyboard halves along with an 8-inch touchscreen display, all of which can be placed in any position on a desk.

Mobile Pixels has opened a Kibidango fundraising campaign for its mobile Tetra Keyboard and Monitor. The combination includes left and right keyboard halves that can be placed anywhere on a desk in addition to an 8-inch LCD touchscreen monitor for use with all Windows and Mac computers. Full compatibility with smartphones will be added in the future, including Samsung DEX-mode compatibility.

The 8-inch LCD touchscreen has a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. The display has a maximum brightness of 300 nits and a contrast ratio of 700:1. The Tetra Board App enables on-screen shortcuts to quickly launch apps, macros, virtual key inputs, and more to increase work efficiency. A tilting stand allows for glare-free positioning. The Tetra monitor connects to any computer with a USB cable and consumes 6.2 watts, while passing through up to 65 watts for charging of other devices. The unit measures 207 x 136 x 19 mm (8.1 x 5.4 x 0.7 in.) and weighs 498 g (17.6 oz.).

The Tetra keyboard halves can be placed anywhere due to a 1,200 mAh battery in each half. When recharging, the battery pulls 134 mA when docked to the monitor or 320 mA when connected to a USB-C power source. The keyboard connects to up to three Bluetooth hosts at once, with a stated latency of under 15 msec. Both keyboard halves have magnets on their sides, allowing them to be attached to each other or the monitor. The halves measure 172mm×132mm×13.8mm. The left half weighs 200 g (7.1 oz.) and the right half weighs 196g (6.9 oz.).

The keys have a 19.683 x 19.4 mm (0.77 x 0.76 in.) size and a pitch of 2.4 mm (0.094 in.). The scissor switches have a travel of 1.3 mm +/- 0.3 mm (0.051 in. +/- 0.012 in.). Each half supports two-key rollover. All keys are backlit and the body of each half has accent lighting around the body.

The Mobile Pixels Tetra Keyboard Monitor has an early bird price starting at 53,500 yen (~$349), or 20% off the MSRP. The fundraising campaign on Kibidango is open until 12/23/2024. Readers who don't need the placement flexibility of the Tetra, but do want a keyboard with a display, an expansion dock, and SSD and SD expansion slots might want to look into this all-in-one keyboard on Amazon.
