Microsoft reveals a limited-edition Xbox Series X with laser-cut Gucci branding
Microsoft has teamed up with fashion house Gucci on a limited edition Xbox Series X which will be released next week. This is the first collaboration between these two brands, marking Gucci’s centennial and Xbox’s 20th birthday.
Each Xbox Series X comes in a hard carry case, similar to the House’s vintage luggage, with two customized black Xbox Wireless Controllers featuring the Gucci logo alongside a blue and red stripe. An Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is also included, giving you access to over 100 games.
The device itself, in black, is covered in the Gucci monogram motif, which is laser-cut into the shell. Gucci puns that this monogram not only represents the initials of the House’s founder, Guccio Gucci, but also the gaming phrase ‘good game’. These words are also written on the bottom of the case.
Alongside the limited edition console release, Gucci has teamed up with lifestyle magazine HYPEBEAST to develop Gucci Stream, a series of videos and images exploring the universe of user-generated content. The series features DJ Emerald Rose Lewis and music artist Kojey Radical who are both avid gamers.
Only 100 of these sets will be available to buy from Gucci on 17th November. Each will be uniquely numbered and will cost US$10,000 (~€8,739).
