Microsoft has raised the prices of Office Home & Business 2019 and Office Professional 2019 to US$249.99 and $439.99 respectively. This is an approximate 10% hike compared to the corresponding Office 2016 suites.

A report completed by Computer World shows that Microsoft has raised the prices for some of their Microsoft Office 2019 suites. This change affects Microsoft Office Home & Business 2019 and Microsoft Office Professional 2019. They are now 9% and 10% more expensive than their Office 2016 counterparts. Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019 remains at the same price ($149.99).

This move applies to Office 2019's stand-alone, one-time install versions. Microsoft did indicate that it might take such an action with Office-software pricing, in order to reflect charging schemes for commercial customers.

On the other hand, it is also likely that Microsoft has done this to give the same buyers the incentive to switch to Office 365 instead. This is a service that requires payments on a subscription basis to retain access to work and programs in the Office sandbox.
