Production of the 2026 Mercedes GLB will take place at the Kecskemét plant in Hungary, approximately three months following the launch of the new CLA Shooting Brake. According to TopElectricSUV, three electric variants are planned for market launch: the GLB 220 EQ with approximately 231 hp and an LFP battery, the GLB 250+ EQ with 272 hp and an NMC battery, and the GLB 350 4Matic EQ with 354 hp and an NMC battery. Charging capacity is expected to be up to 320 kW, enabling fast charging in around 22 minutes. The GLB is equipped as standard with an 11 kW wallbox. A 22 kW onboard charger will be available as an option from market launch.
Equipment and technology
The 2026 Mercedes GLB will be offered with an MBUX Superscreen, multibeam LED headlights, and the Mercedes star logo in the glass roof. The interior features an optional third row of seats, a spacious trunk and an additional frunk. Driver assistance systems offer Level 2+ functionality, allowing the GLB to provide comprehensive support in everyday life.
Mild hybrid variants
Complementing the all-electric offering, Mercedes is launching the GLB 2026 as a mild hybrid with an M252 engine. This is combined with a 27 hp electric motor in the 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, enabling purely electric driving. Available variants include the GLB 180 with 136 hp plus 27 hp, the GLB 200 with 163 hp plus 27 hp, the GLB 200 4Matic with 163 hp plus 27 hp, and the GLB 220 4Matic with 190 hp plus 27 hp. This 48-volt system enables fully electric driving on a hybrid basis for the first time at Mercedes, instead of just boosting and recuperation.
Market launch
According to TopElectricSUV, the Mercedes GLB 2026 is expected to reach customers in mid-2026 and is set to position itself as a spacious, technically advanced family SUV with a wide range of engine options.
