Meizu 16 spotted on AnTuTu, billed for August 8 launch
Meizu has teased its upcoming Meizu 16 devices for a few months now. The company released a trio of devices—the Meizu 15 Plus, Meizu 15, and Meizu 15 Lite—in commemoration of its 15-year anniversary back in April, and is set to follow them up with a pair of devices. One of these devices, the Meizu 16, made an appearance on AnTuTu and achieved scores on par with the most powerful devices in the world.
The Meizu 16 is said to bear the model number “m1882”, and that number can be seen with a bit on squinting in the image. The device is shown with a score of 291,866, which would make it the highest-scoring device on the benchmark platform at the moment, ahead of the overclocked Xiaomi Black Shark gaming phone and others like the Vivo Nex S and the OnePlus 6.
There’s not much officially confirmed about the Meizu 16 devices at the moment but Meizu CEO has stated that the devices will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 and will ship with a notchless curved display, in-display fingerprint sensor, and an MSRP under US$600.
