Medion Lifetab S10334
The Medion Lifetab S10334 is part of the Lifetab Series released by MEDION, a little known German consumer electronics company. Within few days of release, it has taken the internet by the storm with its impressive specs at the price range. This 8.5 mm thick metal notebook only weighs 580 g, making it one of the most lightweight notebooks available in the market.
The 10.1 inch screen features an IPS display with FHD resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels) and is bright. The sharp and crisp display is only offset by the halo visible from certain viewing angles, but this appears to be a common problem for IPS display. Complementing the impressive screen is the quad-core ARM professor that clocked at 1.8 GHz. The notebook is only suitable for lighter processes like surfing the net and work documents and would most likely not be able to run more 3D games. It has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal memory and memory capacity can be expanded with a memory card.
The small notebook has a mini HDMI port, a USB port and houses Bluetooth 4.0 and an infrared port. In addition, it has a 5 MP main camera and a 2 MP front camera. The processing for the camera is a little on the slow side, however. It has a durable battery that can last up to 10 hours on regular use.

The Aldi Medion Lifetab S10346 has attracted plenty of attention purely because of the novelty factor that comes with owning an Aldi-branded tablet. Tesco’s hudl created the same light-hearted stir, but silenced the nay-sayers by proving itself to be a generally excellent device for the price.

Aldi and Medion have crafted a superb looking effort that simply falls flat at the last few hurdles. It's an attractive slate that would be great for the kids, but usability and performance just make it frustrating to use day-to-day. For kicking back and watching videos, it's ideal, but don't expect it to replace your favourite tablet.

Medion Lifetab X10607-MD30022835A1
The Medion Lifetab X10607-MD30022835A1 is a tablet for the highest demands with first-class design, high-quality materials, and the latest hardware. It works quite fast and persistent thanks to its long battery life. There is also a rich set-up; even an LTE module is on board for mobile Internet access. The tablet is a family-friendly all-rounder: not too bulky for traveling, but big enough that surfing, shopping as well as watching videos and photos work comfortably. The tablet also leaves a high-quality impression thanks to its metal back cover and good workmanship. With 544 grams it is quite heavy and with 8.6 millimeters also a bit thick. Its 10-inch display ensures quite sharp pictures, movies and websites thanks to Full HD resolution (1.920 x 1.200 pixels). The color fidelity of 97 percent is very high, as is the contrast ratio of 1.391: 1. Only the maximum brightness of 388.1 cd/m² is somewhat low. In addition, the Corning Gorilla Glass reliably protects the tablet from scratches and makes it particularly robust. The processor used in the Medion is the eight-core model Snapdragon 430 (MSM8937) by Qualcomm. It is based on a chip developed by the British company ARM, which divides the processor cores into two groups. For demanding apps like games, the strong processor quartet takes on 4x 1.4 GHz, for simple tasks like Facebook and Spotify, it uses the slightly weaker quartet with 4x 1.0 GHz. The advantage is that the CPU does not work constantly with full steam, the splitting of the processor cores should save energy and thus spare the battery. Thanks to the pre-installed Smartfrog app, the tablet can also be used to optimize home security. Simply download the Smartfrog App from the Apple App Store or Google Play to your smartphone and connect it to the app on the MEDION Tablet. Already on the go, a user can check on their smartphone to see if everything is alright at home. A 5-megapixel autofocus camera on the back is perfect for spontaneous snapshots or to scan QR codes. The 2-megapixel front camera allows you to stay connected with friends and family via video calling or to shoot funny selfies. Perfect entertainment is guaranteed: not only thanks to the latest Android OS version 7 (Nougat) but also with the help of stereo speakers. Qualcomm's Quick Charging 3.0 feature makes charging faster than ever before. Even if a user wants to recharge the battery during the day, their tablet will be ready for use within a few minutes. The easy-to-use USB Type-C connector is symmetrical, so it does not matter how user put it around. The Lifetab X10607 is a well-built tablet suitable for usual tasks such as browsing, document editing and media playback. It will even do some light gaming but don’t expect a lot since its using the lower end processor from Qualcomm. Hands-on article by Jagadisa RajarathnamSpecifications

The Medion LifeTab E10802 offers a 10-inch tablet including a keyboard cover and the possibility to access the Internet on the go. Aldi's offer also includes a SIM card with a starting credit of 10 Euros (~$12). All that for less than 200 Euros (~$246). Our test shows where savings were made.

Medion: Medion AG is a German consumer electronics company. It operates in Europe, the United States, and the Asia-Pacific region. The main products are computers, TVs, refrigerators, toasters, and fitness equipment. The manufacturer of laptops Medion mainly is active in the German market, but to smaller extent also in Western Europe. Market shares and amount of reviews are low. Above all, supermarkets like Aldi sell their laptops. In 2011, Medion has been acquired by the laptop manufacturer Lenovo.

Intel Atom: The Intel Atom series is a 64-Bit (not every model supports 64bit) microprocessor for cheap and small notebooks (so called netbooks), MIDs, or UMPCs. The speciality of the new architecture is the "in order" execution (instead of the usual and faster "out of order" execution). Therefore, the transistor count of the Atom series is much lower and, thus, cheaper to produce. Furthermore, the power consumption is very low. The performance per Megahertz is therfore worse than the old Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz on par with a 1.6 GHz Atom).

7.00:
This display format is in the mid-range for smartphones. It offers a compromise between good visibility, details and resolution on the screen, and you can still fit it into trouser pockets.
8.00:
Large smartphones and a few small tablets are available for this display size. Unlike most smartphones, you can see more on the screen, more details and use larger resolutions. Such formats are better for people with defective vision. However, such devices are no longer easy to fit in a pocket, and they are probably not quite light either.
10.00:
This is a standard display format for tablet computers or small convertibles. You see more on the screen than on a smartphone but you can't use big resolutions well. On the other hand, mobility is not a problem.

79.55%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
