The launch of the MagicX Zero 40 appears to have hit a speed bump after being scheduled to arrive on June 17. For context, MagicX presented the Zero 40 in December 2024 with an early hands-on video. Since then, the company has released the Mini Zero 28 (curr. $79.99 on Amazon) which it has already revised with a V2 version.
Unfortunately, MagicX has now revealed that it has postponed its Zero 40 launch event in the pursuit of last-minute 'optimisations'. While specifics have not been provided yet, MagicX does not expect them to take long to complete. As it stands, the company now hopes to release the Zero 40 on June 27, again through its retail platform.
As far as we can tell, the Zero 40 is still set to arrive in black and white finishes running MagicX's preferred Allwinner A133P chipset. Likewise, there is no sign that the company has deviated from the device's 4-inch and 480 x 800-pixel display, which makes it rather unique among modern retro gaming handhelds.
