Open-world games have always been popular, but the technical advancements that have taken place in the last decade have really enabled the open-world subtype to take over. Steam Spring Sale: 4 fan-favourite platform games on sale for under US$15

Platformers, especially of the 2D variety, have sort of had a resurgence of late. Perhaps this is in response to the ever-increasing race towards realism at the expense of fun, or perhaps it's simply one of the effects of nostalgia. Either way, Steam's Spring Sale has plenty on offer for fans of the genre.

According to a leaker, Oppo is apparently not planning a global launch for the rather interesting flagship camera phone Oppo Find X6 Pro.

🎙️ OpinionOnly Xiaomi 13 Ultra but no Oppo Find X6 Pro and Vivo X90 Pro+: The erratic and disappointing product policy of many Chinese companies in Europe

(Update: further confirmation of China-only launch) With the Find X6 Pro, Oppo looks set to release one of the most exciting flagship camera phones in a long while. But just like the Vivo X90 Pro+, a well-known leaker with a fairly good track record has reported that at least the highest-end model won’t launch outside China. In recent times, Chinese manufacturers have regularly neglected the global market or only made their products available at exorbitantly high prices. This is nothing new. Not only are they shooting themselves in the foot with product policy that often seems erratic, but the increasingly imminent duopoly between Samsung and Apple is also bad for consumers.

The Samsung Galaxy S23, S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra also do not support newer Bluetooth codecs apart from what we are used to from predecessors.

🎙️ OpinionGalaxy S23, S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra: Modern Bluetooth codecs are still left out by Samsung

Things are bubbling up in the fan mile. Samsung's flagships Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra, which have been rated quite well in tests so far but cost up to 1,800 Euros, still drastically limit the buyer's selection of their preferred audio accessories. After getting rid of the 3.5 mm jack, Samsung more or less gently forces customers to use products from its own portfolio.

Metal: Hellsinger review - almost dangling Doom's feet over the flames

CheckSum Metal: Hellsinger is a fairly simple first-person shooter, but the main attractions are executed so well that it's difficult not to enjoy the end result. It makes for a great entry into rhythm games if you're more of an FPS player, while the heavy metal soundtrack scored by the likes of Serj Tankian, Matt Heafy, Alissa White-Gluz, and Tatiana Shmayluk will have fans of the genre coming back for more.

The new M2 MacBook Pro 14 & 16 are here, but you should probably get the cheaper M1 predecessor

🎙️ OpinionThe new M2 MacBook Pro 14 & 16 are here, but you should probably get the cheaper M1 predecessor

Apple launched the new MacBook Pro line-up with M2 Pro and M2 Max, but we only got a short introduction video instead of a launch event. In addition to new processors, you get Wi-Fi 6E, TB4 and HDMI 2.1, but also higher prices in many regions around the world. Is it worth upgrading or should you just get the previous model at a discount?
