COMPUTEX 2017 | MSI teasing new GE63VR /GE73VR Raider design refresh the series deserves
The old MSI GE60 was refreshed into the current GE62/GE72 chassis in early 2015 with positive results. Fast-forward to 2017 and the GE series is ready for another major refresh into the brand new GE63VR/GE73VR chassis set to make its first appearance at Computex 2017.
According to the MSI press release, the new design was "inspired by exotic sports cars" with more angular accent marks and what appears to be larger rear ventilation grilles in the same style as the enthusiast GT83VR series. The MSI GE and GT series of notebooks have always had excellent cooling solutions and we expect the new GE refresh to be no different.
Core specifications include up to the GTX 1070 with the same 120 Hz/3 ms HDR display options as the recently refreshed GS63VR/GS73VR series. Expect individually-lit SteelSeries RGB keys as well, which will make it a first for a mainstream-level gaming notebook.
MSI should be releasing the official specifications list for both the 15.6-inch GE63VR and 17.3-inch GE73VR in the next few days alongside more images of the notebook on the Computex show floor. As usual, our full reviews on the notebooks will following in the coming weeks.
The Taiwanese manufacturer has also announced the GT75VR and GS63VR/GS73VR refresh during the same Computex keynote.
