MSI recently outed a video teaser for its MSI Z690 GODLIKE motherboard on Twitter. The focus of the brief video was on the monstrous Z690 board's display panel. The Z690 GODLIKE features a 3.5-in removable touchscreen panel, connected via USB Type-C. The display is actually marginally larger than that on older iPhones like the iPhone 3GS.
As mentioned, the panel is removable and connects via USB Type-C. This means that users can connect the panel via a long cable and leave it on a table or elsewhere to convenient view system stats like fan speed and GPU temperature. The touchscreen can also be used to configure GPU and VRAM overclocking, making it possible to test overclocks in-game, without switching out to Afterburner.
The massive touchscreen is definitely overkill but, then again, almost everything about this flagship LGA 1700 board for Alder Lake is. Measuring in at over 900 cm2, the board is larger than competitors like the ROG MAXIMUS Z690, and will fit in only the largest of cases. With 3 PCIe slots, 6 M.2 slots and plenty of I/O connectivity, the touchscreen is far from being the Z690 GODLIKE's star attraction.
