Intel Alder Lake top-end SKUs and Z690 platform to be officially announced during Innovation event on October 27, availability from November 4
The official Intel Alder Lake announcement was long being speculated to happen this month. Now, we have a near-official confirmation of the dates for the product announcement as well as for the review embargo.
This information comes by way of a document accessed by Wccftech. According to the source, Intel will be showing off the top-end Alder Lake desktop variants during the company's Innovation event on October 27 and October 28.
During the Innovation event, Intel is expected to delve into the specifications, pricing, and performance features of the the Core i9-12900K, 12900KF, Core i7-12700K, 12700KF, Core i5-12600K, and the Core i5-12600KF. The company will also be detailing the salient features of the Z690 platform. The remaining mainstream lineup and other Alder Lake chipsets such as the H670, B660, and H610 are likely be announced during CES 2022.
These CPUs along with Z690 motherboards will be available for purchase from November 4 6 AM PT, which is also when the review embargoes lift.
The Intel Alder Lake platform brings heterogeneous computing to the desktop with a combination of high performance Golden Cove or P-cores and energy-efficient Gracemont cores or E-cores. Alder Lake will also bring support for DDR5 RAM and PCIe Gen 5 I/O, but this will be offered only with the Z690 chipset-based motherboards.
