Tipster outs CPU-Z benchmark results for i5-12600K: beats the i9-11900K and nearly doubles the 5600X's multithreaded score
Tipster @TUM_APISAK outed what appear to be CPU-Z benchmarks for the i5-12600K. Following an Ashes of the Singularity leak that showed impressive gains for the midrange Alder Lake part, the CPU-Z leak shows the 12600K demolishing the competing AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, while edging out the far costlier flagship Rocket Lake i9-11900K.
The i5-12600K handed in a single-threaded score of 746, substantially higher than the speediest Ryzen in the comparison, the Ryzen 9 5900X, which managed just 648, and behind only the i7-12700K and i9-12900K. The multithreaded scores are even more eye-opening. The i5-12600K hands in a multithreaded score of 7058, higher than Ryzen 7 5800X, and even beating out the former flagship i9-11900K. Compared to its immediate predecessor the i5-11600K, and the competing Ryzen 5 5600K, it's no contest: the 12600K nearly doubles the latter two's multithreaded scores.
If Alder Lake hits compelling price points and delivers a significant performance edge over both Rocket Lake and the AMD Ryzen competition, Intel could regain some of the market and mindshare that Ryzen's taken over the past few years.
