The Prestige 13 AI Evo A1MG is a super compact device that offers plenty of power on the go. The gadget that we bought is equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 5 125H which is the base CPU option for this MSI series. When directly compared to the MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Evo A2VM with a Core Ultra 7 258V (which is also the default processor option for this laptop model), the AI+ Evo A2VM sibling has the upper hand in both CPU and iGPU performance but it costs more. So, the choice is in your hands, if you don’t want to spend too much money on a new laptop, but still need a light and fast device, the Prestige 13 AI Evo A1MG is the right choice. On the other hand, the A2VM brings more power to the table alongside beefy NPU, better Web camera, and faster LPDDR5x memory.

MSI has refreshed its lightest 13-inch laptop with Lunar Lake processors to replace the older Meteor Lake options. The changes have boosted both battery life and graphics potential without increasing fan noise or weight.

If you are looking for a new portable machine with modern hardware, the MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Evo A2VM can give you all that. The Lunar Lake platform is a smart choice for the MSI Prestige 13, given its focus on efficiency. The CPU performance is more than enough for day-to-day or office tasks. The NPU is great for anyone who’s into AI productivity, and the Intel Arc Graphics 140V lets you squeeze in some CS2 at Low to Medium settings during the lunch break. This reminds us that the Core Ultra 7 258V inside our laptop maintains a 2.74 GHz / 3.21 GHz P and LP-E core clock in long loads which is a respectable result. The 2880x1800p OLED panel (ATNA33AA07-0 (SDC41A8)) boasts an infinite contact ratio and full sRGB and DCI-P3 coverage alongside very good color accuracy when our “Design and Office” profile is applied.

Falling below competitors in terms of overall performance isn’t ideal, but the MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Evo more than makes up for it with its incredible 13.3-inch OLED display, long battery life, and snappy keyboard experience. Not to mention that its speedy SSD and decent graphics performance mitigate some of that poor overall performance. However, if you want something a little more powerful and with longer battery life, I recommend checking out the MacBook Air 13-inch (M3). But a comparable configuration of the MacBook Air is going to cost you a couple hundred dollars more. You simply cannot beat the value that the MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Evo provides, especially with its 32GB of RAM and huge 2TB SSD.

I can see the MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Evo making a name for itself as the new go-to 13-inch laptop for many, with its incredibly lightweight and compact design, superb 2.8K OLED display and great performance thanks to Intel Lunar Lake. Even when up against tough competition in the Dell XPS 13 and MacBook Air, it holds its own. Its chassis could use better materials and it’s a little heavy-handed with its AI branding for what it offers, but these can’t take away from MSI’s achievement of fitting a gorgeous screen on a compact, featherweight laptop. The MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Evo’s price is a tad higher than some 13-inch laptops of the same caliber, so it will be even better at a discount, but either way, it sure it won’t disappoint.

Prices for the MSI Prestige 13 AI Plus Evo start at $1,399 right now while it's on sale on Amazon. As I said earlier, it is a little expensive but well worth the investment. The top-notch Intel Core Ultra 7-258V processor, OLED display, and lightweight design work together with a lightweight form factor to make this laptop one of my favorites of the year.

MSI: Micro-Star International (MSI) was founded in 1986 in Taiwan. MSI is especially known as a manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards for PCs, but also offers computer accessories, complete systems, motherboards, graphics cards, laptops, desktop PCs, monitors and other components. However, the Microstar brand name in Germany belongs to the Medion company. MSI is known for its gaming products and has developed a wide range of gaming laptops and desktop PCs. The company is also active in workstations, servers and industrial automation. MSI has offices in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
Intel Arc 7-Core: Integrated graphics adapter based on the Xe LPG architecture (similar to the dedicated Arc GPUs, but with a focus on efficiency). Provides 7 of the 8 Xe cores (112 Xe Vector Engines) and 7 ray tracing units.
Intel Arc 140V: A pretty fast integrated graphics adapter that higher-end Intel Lunar Lake family processors employ. This is a direct successor to the Arc 8; it can drive three SUHD 4320p monitors simultaneously via HDMI 2.1, eDP 1.5 and DP 2.1. With the 140V, all 2023 and 2024 games are playable at 1080p on low graphics settings.

Intel Meteor Lake-H:
Ultra 5 125H: A mid-range Meteor Lake family chip that debuted in December 2023. This 1st Gen Core Ultra laptop processor has come to replace 13th generation Core chips; it has 14 cores (4 + 8 + 2) and 18 threads at its disposal. Its Performance cores, of which there are 4, run at up to 4.5 GHz while its Efficient cores, of which there are 10 (8 main cores plus 2 extra ones found in the Low Power Island) run at up to 3.6 GHz. The 7-core Arc GPU, just out of the oven, serves as the integrated graphics adapter (this runs at up to 2.20 GHz) and there is a bevy of other brand-new technologies on offer as well such as the integrated AI Boost NPU with two Gen 3 engines for hardware AI workload acceleration. The chip's Intel-recommended Base power consumption is 28 W while its maximum Turbo power consumption is supposed to be within 115 W.
Intel Lunar Lake:
Core Ultra 7 258V: An upper mid-range Lunar Lake family processor. It sports 4 new Skymont E-cores and 4 new Lion Cove P-cores running at up to 3.7 GHz and 4.8 GHz respectively, along with the new Arc 140V iGPU and 32 GB of on-package LPDDR5x-8533 RAM. It essentially matches the Core Ultra 7 165U and Core i7-1360P in multi-thread performance and it eats up to 37 W when under short-term workloads.
