The compact Cyborg 15 is not designed for the highest performance, but mobility, a long battery life, and low power consumption play a big role. Nonetheless, the Core i7-12650H and GeForce RTX 4060 still allow you to play all the current games smoothly on the Cyborg 15.

The MSI Cyborg 15 isn’t a spectacular machine, it wasn’t meant to be, not at this price. All it was meant to be is affordable, stylish, and deliver great performance. In that, it succeeds. The display could be brighter and more colorful, but the 144Hz refresh rate is much welcome. And while its battery life isn’t great, the Cyborg 15 doubles well as a productivity machine, for as long as you can keep it plugged in. Players with bigger budgets will find more impressive options available, including the Razer Blade 16 (Intel Core I9-14900HX, RTX 4080) or the MSI Raider GE68HX (Intel Core i9-13950HX, RTX 4060). But if your budget can’t stretch to over two grand, the MSI Cyborg 15 will serve you well.

While maintaining an affordable price tag, gaming laptops are forced to have their compromise parts. MSI Cyborg 15 is not without them either. However, here the manufacturer has managed to maintain a good balance of good and compromise parts. At the same time, the model also offers original external elements that should be of interest to cyberpunk fans. Such a laptop should also be enough for work and entertainment, of course, if you don't expect ultra-high FPS performance in top games and are meticulous about every detail. So if you're looking to buy an inexpensive gaming laptop, the MSI Cyborg 15 is a good choice.

At the beginning of this review, we questioned MSI’s claims that this laptop is going to be groundbreaking and impressive. To be fair, the notebook is pretty good for what it is. The 45W RTX 4050 really can’t hold a candle to the 85W one of the MSI Katana 15. However, it is pretty good at games, and at this moment in time, when laptops with RTX 4000 are still young, the Cyborg 15 (A12V) does seem like a good purchase. MSI Cyborg 15 (A12V)’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a good contrast ratio. It doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment, but unfortunately, it covers only 54% of the sRGB color gamut. Also, its pixel response time is a bit slow, which doesn’t bode well with the fast refresh rate of 144Hz. Unfortunately, the battery life is not stellar. We got about 5 hours of Web browsing, or 4 hours and 30 minutes of video playback. After all, this is 2023 and gaming laptops are no longer sick of the limited battery life disease. On the bright side, the laptop offers two SODIMM slots for memory expansion.
