MINISFORUM V3 AMD Tablet: New Microsoft Surface Pro 9 competitor detailed in new teaser video

MINISFORUM has now shared a short video of its first tablet, which it began teasing in August. For reference, MINISFORUM now calls the tablet the 'V3 AMD Tablet' on account of its '3-in-1' capabilities and its AMD Hawk Point APU. As far as we can tell, the former phrase refers to the tablet having a DisplayPort In connection, meaning it can be used as an external monitor. 

Embedded below, the video showcases the tablet from most sides, albeit without showing its bottom edge. Nonetheless, we can now make out the following ports:

• 1x 3.5 mm jack
• 1x SD card slot (UHS-II)
• 2x USB4 ports
• 1x USB Type-C (DisplayPort In)

Additionally, the device will feature quad speakers, 2 MP front-facing and 5 MP rear-facing cameras, plus Windows Hello face and fingerprint support. As we have discussed previously, MINISFORUM has opted for a 14-inch and 16:10 display rather than a 3:2 equivalent. While the latter provides more vertical space than a 16:10 panel, MINISFORUM's tablet will combine a 1440p resolution with a 165 Hz refresh rate.

Arguably, the inclusion of an AMD Hawk Point APU will set MINISFORUM's tablet apart from the Surface Pro 9. Although the APU's retail name remains unknown for now, it will combine Zen 4 CPU cores and an RDNA 3 iGPU while operating at between 22 W and 28 W.
