Lucid has announced a new variant of the Lucid Air Grand Touring, the Grand Touring Performance. The new model will go into production in the next few months.
The Performance version is optimized for acceleration, delivering 1,050 hp and it can go from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 100 kph) in 2.6 s. This makes it faster than the standard Grand Touring vehicle, which has 819 hp and a 0 to 60 mph time of 3.0 s.
While the Grand Touring sedan has 516 miles (~830 km) range, the Performance model can travel up to 446 miles (~718 km) between charges. Other differences include bespoke rims and badges on the Performance car.
Both cars have a top speed of 168 mph (~270 kph), all-wheel drive and a dual-motor drive train. The vehicles have a 900V+ battery with fast charging abilities and premium features like a 5K display and 21-speaker Surreal Sound. The electric sedans also have the DreamDrive Pro driver assistance system providing semi-autonomous features.
In the statement, Lucid confirmed that customer deliveries of the Air Grand Touring were underway. Deliveries of the Grand Touring Performance are due to begin in June in the US and August in Canada. You can pre-order the new vehicle with prices starting at US$179,000.
