Lingmo OS is based on Debian 12 "Bookworm", which is considered extremely stable and is also used as a foundation by Q4OS. Based on this, the developers have implemented their own GUI called "LingmoUI", which imitates the design of macOS.
Lingmo OS is a consistent and easy-to-use operating system
The design aims to both simplify the user experience and to make MacOS switchers feel right at home. A key feature of Lingmo OS is stability, so it stands to reason that the developers are building on the 6.12 LTS (Long-Term Support) kernel.
The Lingmo Package Manager (LPM) is used to install new programs. However, since Lingmo OS 3.0 is based on Debian, package managers such as Synaptic or Discover are also likely to be supported.
Elegant design meets moderate system requirements
Owners of old computers, laptops and notebooks may find this to be an appealing solution, as the requirements for Lingmo OS 3.0 are surprisingly modest. The requirements are as follows:
- Dual-Core-CPU (64-Bit)
- 2 GB of RAM
- 10 GB of storage
- UEFI firmware
The ISO image, updated on October 19, is 3.4 GB in size and can be download here directly from the website.
