The UnifyDrive UT2 is still enjoying a Black Friday price cut. Thanks to this deal, the portable NAS with built-in battery is currently down to $399, which matches its early-bird pricing.

UnifyDrive launched the UT2 as a portable NAS with a relatively capable processor and built-in battery. Initially introduced in late 2024 with an early bird pricing of $399 for Kickstarter backers, it launched with a price tag of $599.

However, thanks to this Black Friday price cut, the portable NAS can be purchased for $399 again. This limited-time sale will be available until December 15, 2025, and the mentioned price is applicable for the standard package.

As for the NAS itself, in our hands-on review, we noted that the UT2 comes with a reasonably good quality chassis, making it ideal for outdoor photographers. There are a handful of backup features, allowing on-the-go professionals to easily back up their data. For example, it has a one-click backup feature for CFe, SD, and TF cards.

Speaking of which, besides having support for reading the above-mentioned cards, the UnifyDrive UT2 can be connected with a storage device through the USB-C or USB-A ports. The Debian-based OS that it runs, called UDOS, has a proper interface for viewing and managing the backed-up files through displays connected with the device's USB-C with DP or HDMI 2.1 port.

Regarding storage capacity, the UT2 comes with two NVMe slots, which can hold PCIe 3.0 SSDs. Users can install up to an 8 TB SSD in each, making the total storage support stand at 16 TB (4 TB Samsung 990 Pro curr. $329.99 on Amazon). There are built-in AI features for sorting and managing files, and the cooling setup is adequate for allowing the system to handle heavy backup loads.

While all that sounds great, it's worth noting that the built-in battery is rated for up to an hour of backup. Moreover, UDOS is not known to be as flexible in terms of app support as other NAS-focused operating systems. You can learn more about the UnifyDrive UT2 from our hands-on review.
