Introduced last week and with wide availability expected to follow during the first quarter of 2022, the ARES DDR5-4800 desktop memory solution by Lexar targets next-gen Alder Lake-powered systems and features on-die ECC, 1.1 V voltage, aluminum heat spreaders, and it comes covered with a Lifetime limited warranty.

Although DDR5 memory for desktop PCs remains hard to get, more such products arrive on the market these days. Lexar is the latest brand to release such a product, as the well-known flash memory maker introduced the ARES DDR5-4800 memory solutions at the end of last week.

Unsurprisingly, the Lexar ARES DDR5-4800 targets PC enthusiasts, hardcore gamers, and high-end content creators. Designed to be fully compatible with the latest Alder Lake chips by Intel, this memory sports the following highlights:

  • On-die ECC design for improved stability.
  • Low voltage of just 1.1 V for increased power efficiency.
  • Passive cooling via sleek aluminum heat spreaders.
  • Limited lifetime warranty.

Although a limited supply is available for online purchases already, finding the Lexar ARES DDR5-4800 memory will be tough for at least a few months. According to the official press release, the memory "will be available in the U.S. and EMEA in Q1, 2022." If you happen to be one of the lucky ones who managed to get their hands on these new kits, feel free to let everyone know where you got it and how much you paid for it. As usual, the comments section is all yours.

In my early school days, I hated writing and having to make up stories. A decade later, I started to enjoy it. Since then, I published a few offline articles and then I moved to the online space, where I contributed to major websites that are still present online as of 2021 such as Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000, but I also wrote for multiple blogs that have disappeared over the years. I've been riding with the Notebookcheck crew since 2013 and I am not planning to leave it anytime soon. In love with good mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sound, but also smartphones, streaming services, and digital art.
