We did not get a new generation of mobile graphics cards from Nvidia this year, but the GeForce RTX 5070 was recently refreshed and is now available with 12 instead of 8 GB VRAM. This means Nvidia eliminated one of the biggest criticisms of the RTX 5070, because there was no advantage over the old RTX 4070 in terms of VRAM. The new RTX 5070 12 GB does not require a new motherboard layout (contrary to the larger RTX 5070 Ti), so the new GPU version is a very interesting option for high-end multimedia laptops as well as mainstream gaming laptops.

One of the first new models is the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i 15 G11, a 15-inch multimedia laptop powered by Intel's new Panther Lake CPUs. The selection of dGPUs includes familiar models like the GeForce RTX 5050 or RTX 5060 with 8 GB VRAM or the previously mentioned GeForce RTX 5070 with 12 GB VRAM. The maximum TGP is 85 Watts for each GPU and it is a decent value for a multimedia laptop, but it is a bit tricky to use the highest TGP setting. But more on this in our comprehensive review, because we are currently testing the new Yoga Pro 7i 15 G11, even though we only have the SKU with the RTX 5060.
However, the new Yoga Pro 7i 15 G11 is not cheap and the current memory prices clearly have a huge impact. Our review unit with the Core Ultra 9 386H, 32 GB RAM, a 1 TB SSD, the GeForce RTX 5060 as well as the high-resolution OLED touchscreen retails for an eye-watering price of €3089 from Lenovo. Our full review will be published in the next couple of days.
