A third-party marketer associated with Lenovo stated on Weibo that Intel "cannot keep up in the short term" with AMD, and that Intel will "continue to play other cards to suppress" AMD's rise.
These remarks are made all the more remarkable by the fact that at roughly the same time, Lenovo's official Weibo account claimed that price reductions on Comet Lake H Core i7-10875H and other Intel models were due to Intel having to "deal with" AMD. This is apparently an oblique reference to how AMD's Renoir Ryzen 7 4800H has put Intel on the back foot, delivering significantly better performance than the six-core i7-10750H.
Lenovo went on to say that the eight-core i7-10875H will be available on a wider range of Lenovo models and that pricing will be reduced. While both of these statements rehash known variables, it is remarkable to see an OEM and an officially associated influencer actually talking about it through social media channels.
Lending substance to these claims, the Comet Lake i7-10875H-powered Lenovo Y7000P laptop received a substantial price cut to RMB 8299, down from an initial price point of RMB 8799.
