Lenovo has shared more details about one of its new mini-PCs. Now confirmed for a global launch, the ThinkCentre X Ultra runs counter to recent Nvidia RTX Spark announcements by adopting AMD's Gorgon Halo and Strix Halo platforms with up to 128 GB of RAM.

Lenovo has provided more details about its next high-end mini-PC. For context, the company presented the ThinkCentre X Ultra as part of its IFA 2026 showcase. Initially, it confirmed that the mini-PC would feature 'up to' the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 from AMD's Gorgon Halo platform, eschewing Nvidia's nascent RTX Spark platform.

Now, Lenovo has revealed that the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 will be one of three processors with which the ThinkCentre X Ultra will be available. Surprisingly, not all of these will hail from the Gorgon Halo platform. Instead, the mini-PC will arrive with the Ryzen AI Max+ 388 and the Ryzen AI Max+ 492 from AMD's Strix Halo and Gorgon Halo families.

As a result, Ryzen AI Max+ 388 variants will ship with slower RAM than Ryzen AI Max+ 492 or Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 alternatives. Specifically, AMD pairs its Strix Halo processors with LPDDR5X RAM running at 8,000 MT/s. By contrast, newer Gorgon Halo alternatives jump to faster 8,533 MT/s LPDDR5X RAM.

With that said, the ThinkCentre X Ultra misses out on 192 GB RAM SKUs like other Gorgon Halo mini-PCs, including AMD's latest Ryzen AI Halo Developer Platform (curr. $8,896 on Amazon). Correspondingly, the ThinkCentre X Ultra can only assign up to 96 GB of its unified memory as VRAM. Alternatively, Lenovo will sell 64 GB of RAM SKUs, which will be capable of assigning up to 48 GB of VRAM.

Setting that aside, the ThinkCentre X Ultra will officially support Windows 11 Pro and AMD's Ryzen AI Developer Platform. Lenovo has confirmed that the mini-PC will ship with the latter by default in all markets. By extension, it has revealed the full extent of its global release plans, too.

For instance, the US is set to receive four SKUs, starting with the Ryzen AI Max+ 388, 64 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. Alternatively, the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 and 128 GB of RAM will be available with a 1 TB, 2 TB or a 4 TB SSD. The Ryzen AI Max+ 492 is headed to Africa, Europe and the Middle East, though. The ThinkCentre X Ultra should start at $3,699 next month in the US. Please see Lenovo's website for more details.
