Lenovo has lifted the lid on the Yoga Slim 7 Pro X, an AMD counterpart to the Intel-powered Yoga Slim 7i Pro X. The Yoga Slim 7 Pro X comes with a choice of new AMD Creator Edition APUs, up to the Ryzen 9 6900HS Creator Edition. Lenovo includes a 70 Whr battery too, along with three display options and a choice between the GeForce GTX 1650 or GeForce RTX 3050.

Lenovo has brought AMD Ryzen 6000HS Creator Edition APUs to the Yoga Slim 7 Pro X, a machine that measures 329.2 x 221.4 x 15.9 mm and weighs 1.45 kg. Seemingly one of the first laptops to feature Creator Edition versions of the Ryzen 6000HS series, the Yoga Slim 7 Pro X will be available with Creator Edition versions of the Ryzen 5 6600HS, Ryzen 7 6800HS and the Ryzen 9 6900HS. While Lenovo has not provided any details about these Creator Edition APUs, their Ryzen 5000HS series predecessors have higher base clock speeds than their non-Creator Edition counterparts.

For reference, the Ryzen 5 6600HS is a 6-core APU with 12 threads, a 4.5 GHz boost clock speed and a Radeon 660M iGPU. In comparison, the Ryzen 7 6800HS and Ryzen 9 6900HS are both 8-core parts with 16 threads and the Radeon 680M. However, the Ryzen 9 6900HS operates at higher CPU clock speeds, as does its Radeon 680M iGPU. While the Radeon 660M and Radeon 680M are powerful iGPUs, Lenovo will also offer the Yoga Slim 7 Pro X with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 and the GeForce RTX 3050 that have access to 4 GB of GDDR6 VRAM each.

Additionally, Lenovo equips the Yoga Slim 7 Pro X with a 70 Wh battery, dual 2 W Harman-branded speakers, a 1080p webcam with an electronic camera shutter and an IR camera for Windows Hello authentication. Elsewhere, the machine comes with a choice of three 14.5-inch display options, all with 3,072 x 1,920 (3K) resolutions. According to Lenovo's press release, all panels peak at 400 nits, have 120 Hz Adaptive Refresh Rates and support NVIDIA G-SYNC. Only one panel has glass and touchscreen layers though; for some reason, Lenovo offers a glass and non-touch option as well as a non-glass and non-touch option. Moreover, all configurations have the following ports:

  • 2x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C (10 GB, DisplayPort 1.4a, USB PD 3.0)
  • 1x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A (BC 1.2)
  • 1x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A
  • 1x 3.5 mm combo audio jack

The Yoga Slim 7 Pro X will be orderable from July 2022, at least in Europe. So far, Lenovo has only confirmed that the laptop will start at €1,199 in Europe; pricing and availability in other markets remain unknown at this stage.
