All in all, this laptop has been wonderful to use. I have most appreciated the parts and the reliability of this machine. Being able to plug in any device I may need without having to carry a dongle is peace of mind that I do not take for granted. It has ports to jump in and out of whatever they are solving, and it's portable enough to carry around from place to place (even though they're not going want to walk around holding this in their hand anytime soon).

70% Lenovo ThinkPad T1g review: A jack of all trades, but it works

Don’t let the Lenovo ThinkPad T1g’s branding fool you. This is not a business laptop, and while it works as a portable workstation, it’s not that either. The ThinkPad T1g is best understood as a prosumer machine for people who need one laptop that can handle both demanding work applications, like video editing or 3D modeling software, and demanding entertainment like PC games. The T1g’s only real downside is not a trait of the laptop itself. It’s the competition. Asus’ ProArt P16 gets my nod over the T1g, as it can be had with similar hardware at a similar price and offers better overall GPU performance. The Dell XPS 16, Alienware Aurora 16, and Razer Blade 16 are also competitive on value. So, why choose the ThinkPad T1g?

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.

In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.

In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.

These graphics cards are able to play the latest and most demanding games in high resolutions and full detail settings with enabled Anti-Aliasing.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop: Mobile graphics card of the Blackwell family for laptops, which offers 4,608 shaders and 8 or 12 GB VRAM depending on the model.

Intel Arrow Lake:

Ultra 9 285H: High-end mobile processor based on the Arrow Lake architecture with 16 cores divided into 3 clusters. The 6 fast P-cores clock at up to 5.4 GHz. There are also 8 smaller E-cores with up to 4.5 GHz and 2 small low power cores (same architecture) with up to 2.5 GHz. The SoC integrates a small NPU with 13 TOPS peak performance and supports vPro Enterprise.

Intel Panther Lake:

Ultra 7 366H: High-end 16-core SoC of the Panther Lake family and top model with 4 Xe3 GPU cores. As with Lunar Lake, the built-in NPU 5 offers 50 TOPS and now offers support for FP8.
