The "Legion 7" comes in two flavours: a normal version and a slim model (with an added "Slim" in its name). Featuring a thin and understated design, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7i is aimed at consumers who may find a typical gaming laptop too flashy for their taste.

If you want a laptop that does everything and does it well, the Legion Slim 7i is an obvious choice. It excels as a gaming laptop, a workstation and a productivity machine thanks to a powerful CPU/GPU combination, excellent display, and a high-quality keyboard. The long-running battery life puts every other laptop with gaming pretensions to shame. That Lenovo has managed to package all that in a machine that’s lighter than a 16in MacBook Pro, and barely any larger, is nothing short of miraculous.

Lenovo's Legion Slim 7i is a thinner and lighter gaming laptop, but smaller size usually means lower performance and other compromises. This review will show you if it’s worth it and how it compares with other laptops!

The Legion Slim 7i has a 2560 by 1600 screen resolution - more pixels than 1440p! But it maxes out with a 100 watt RTX 3060, so how well does this combination actually run games? We’ve benchmarked 15 different games at all setting levels to find out!

It's a complex matter, grading a gaming laptop that has openly made some compromises in order to shed some weight and keep things slim. On the one hand, the Legion Slim 7i is a success, with a profile that makes it miles more portable than many options on the market. The display is great, you get solid power and don't need to buy a suitcase just to move it around in. That said, the downside is that you do get slightly less power than most comparably expensive laptops manage, so you're paying a bit of a premium for the slimline build. We think that'll mean it's a bit of a niche proposition, but for those wanting a capable gaming laptop that's also genuinely portable, this is certainly a worthy new contender.

All in all, I’m glad Lenovo put more effort into the Legion Slim 7 series, updating them to modern 16:10 screen options, a multitude of modern hardware configurations, and a larger battery. They kind of neglected this niche of premium all-purpose thin-and-lights in recent years, and I’m happy that’s not the case anymore. From what we know so far, the 2022 Legion Slim 7 models are expected in stores around May-June this year, with prices starting at 1500-1600 USD in North America. The Intel + Nvidia models will demand a premium over the same-tier AMD configurations, but future discounts might level the field later in the year. We’ll know more about these once we get to review them properly, so stay around for our updates. In the meantime, I’d love to hear your thoughts on these 2022 Lenovo Legion Slim 7 and Slim 7i updates, so get in touch down below.

Well, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7i (16 Intel, Gen 8) is one of the biggest surprises of 2023. One of the main advantages of this machine is the mix of its dimensions and powerful hardware. The device weighs 2 kg and the profile thickness is 17.6-19.9 mm. This sounds great for a laptop with Raptor Lake-H processor options and NVIDIA Ada Lovelace video cards with hefty TGPs. Our notebook is the maxed-out configuration when it comes to CPU, GPU, and RAM. Ergo, Core i9-13900H, the 140W version of RTX 4070, and 32GB of RAM. The cooling solution is capable enough to handle the powerful internals while gaming, and you can also use the machine for photo and video rendering. The Core i9 can maintain a high P and E cores clock during prolonged periods of stress and the same goes for the GeForce RTX 4070 (Laptop, 140W).

The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is impressive as a thinner and smaller gaming laptop than its competitors so far. Though the colors are a little uninspired, the build quality, port selection, size and weight, and specs are all top-notch as we can see so far. The fact that you can adjust the panel for both power gaming and creative work just sweetens the deal. We’re already looking at a powerful gaming laptop with a much lighter form factor than most. And the deal could be even sweeter if it's going for a much more reasonable price point than the competition. It’s exactly the kind of option that gamers have been owed for quite some time now.

This range for display formats was and is a rarity. It is larger than the general standard of 15 inches, but not yet in the range of large workstations. One usually has higher screen resolutions available, but portability suffers from that.
