Lenovo Legion 5 Pro (16″) review – we were waiting for this one for a long time
Source: Laptop Media English
Lenovo was the latest manufacturer to hop on the 16-inch train. Personally, we feel that it is the perfect size for productivity or gaming on the go, as it is not too large to be carried around. Yet, it is larger than the more common 15.6-inch form factor. Something that we were missing inside of the notebook was an SD card reader. Although the device has an abundance of ports, including 4x USB Type-A ports and two USB Type-C ones, there is no Thunderbolt certification because of the limits of the chipset. Ultimately, there are some compromises you have to make when buying this laptop. However, we feel that there you can work around most of them, and the core package is good enough to be recommended.

Legion 5 Pro Review - The best value gaming laptop of 2021 (Ryzen 5600H & RTX 3060)
Source: Mash IT English
In this review we look at what we consider the best value gaming laptop of 2021, the Lenovo Legion 5 pro. We bought the base model to see how it performs as most reviewers are focusing on the higher tier modes. The Lenovo Legion 5 pro cost £1100 in the UK for Ryzen 5600H, RTX 3060, 8gb ram and 512gb SSD.

Model:

The latest to join the Lenovo family is the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro. In terms of its design, this laptop might remind the users of older gaming laptops, with its bulky design and hinge placement. With a more than one inch thickness, this is no svelte gaming machine. In addition, the laptop is also quite heavy at nearly 5.5 pounds. Apart from that, the laptop is stacked to the gills with ports, most of which can be found on the back. There is an Ethernet jack, three USB-A ports, a USB-C power delivery port and an HDMI port, plus Lenovo’s familiar rectangular power input. On the other hand, the left side of the laptop houses another USB-C port and the headphone jack, while the right side is home to a fourth USB-A port and a camera kill switch toggle.

Overall, the vents take up a fair bit of the laptop’s body, with one on the bottom, one on either side, and one on the back. Well, considering the hardware inside this model, such a number of vents comes as no surprise. As far as its keyboard is concerned, the Legion 5 Pro has been equipped with a backlit full keyboard and a number pad. However, this does make it feel extremely uncomfortable to type on, since the main keyboard is off-center, and the number pad is only marginally useful. Overall, beyond the layout, the keyboard is not all that great. In fact, the key travel is short, which is common on a lot of laptops, but the keys themselves also feel mushy. In a nutshell, the Legion 5 Pro did not facilitate a pleasant typing experience.

In terms of its display, Lenovo claims that the Legion 5 Pro is the first gaming laptop with a 16-inch QHD 16:10 display. Well, it is undeniable that this laptop is quite a looker, with slim bezels surrounding it as most gaming laptops have 16:9 aspect ratios. The Legion 5 Pro’s 16:10 display works great for games, while offering a little extra vertical space for web browsing or working in documents. In addition to the 2560 x 1600 screen resolution, the laptop’s display also goes up to 165Hz and supports G-Sync.

As for its performance, the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro has two options for the CPU which is either an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H or Ryzen 7 5800H. There are also choices of GPUs from an Nvidia GeForce RTX3050 all the way up to an RTX 3070 for this model. In terms of its gaming experience, this laptop can be considered as an excellent machine. However, there is more to this device than just its gaming performance as the Ryzen 7 5800H and 16GB of RAM (3200MHz) is obviously great for other productivity applications too. As for the battery, the Legion 5 Pro has a respectable 80 Whr battery that can last for 6 hours and 15 minutes. Overall, it is a great device to be explored, depending on the need and preference of the user.

16.00":

15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.

The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.

In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.

In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
