Lego leak hints at two new superhero sets, including Peni Parker's Spider-Verse mech
Lego may be planning two unusual Super Heroes sets for 2027. This is based on details circulating from an alleged internal product document. The leak points to a large Joker art set and a new Spider-Verse model of Peni Parker.
The bigger of the two is reportedly set 67012, called Joker Art (see below). The 18+ model is said to contain 1,849 pieces and cost $169.99 in the US. A release date of January 1, 2027 is alleged for this one. According to the leaked material, it would use a building style similar to 2023's Lego 31209 The Amazing Spider-Man, instead of the flatter mosaic style used in previous Lego Art sets.
If true, that would make 67012 a somewhat big switch-up from the 2022 31205 Jim Lee Batman Collection. The aforementioned set offered Batman, Joker and Harley Quinn as mosaic builds. The new Joker model is instead reportedly designed as a dimensional portrait.
The second leak concerns set 67016, reportedly named Peni's Sp//der Mech. The model is said to arrive in April 2027 as part of a Spider-Verse wave — this one will feature Peni Parker, Miles Morales and The Spot. Apparently, Miles and The Spot are both repeat minifigures (from Spider-Verse: Miles Morales vs. The Spot set 76311), although there is a high chance The Spot is the newer, more powerful version from the second Spider-verse animated movie. No piece count or price has surfaced for this one yet.
There is a little uncertainty around the Spider-Verse details. One leaked graphic calls the set part of Beyond the Spider-Verse, while its artwork uses imagery from Across the Spider-Verse. It could very well be a placeholder image, but still. The final set name also looks to be unknown.
Both set numbers have appeared as 2027 placeholders in Brickset's database, although the listings do not confirm the leaked names, prices or designs. The 67xxx numbering also shows up across several 2027 Marvel entries. This could mean that Lego is moving Super Heroes into a new numbering range. However, that's merely an observation.
Lego has not confirmed either set, so the reported details should be treated as only leaks for now.
