In addition to the Pixel 9 series, Google is expected to unveil the successors to the Pixel Buds Pro at the launch event on August 13. A Reddit user has already discovered a Spigen Ultra Hybrid Case for the Pixel Buds Pro 2 on Amazon. The product images of the transparent protective case also reveal the design of the completely wireless earphones in advance.
At first glance, the design of the Pixel Buds Pro 2 looks confusingly similar to its direct predecessor, but Google has made several minor changes. The microphone cover on the side of the housing is slightly larger on the new model and matches the earphones in color. The colored half of the housing is slightly larger on the Pixel Buds Pro 2. The design and dimensions of the charging case appear to have hardly changed, as the protective case is compatible with both the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and the first-generation Pixel Buds Pro.
A small cut-out can be seen next to the USB-C port on the charging case, which the older version of the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Case from 2022 does not have. This suggests that Google is planning an opening that could be used to attach a wrist strap, among other things. Alternatively, it could be a speaker opening for emitting a sound that makes it easier to locate the charging case via Google's "Find My Device". As an earlier leak showed, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 are expected to be available in four colors: Raspberry (red), Mojito (green), Porcelain (beige) and Haze (dark gray).
