LG H740 tablet spotted at GFXBench with Snapdragon 615 SoC
It's not uncommon to find unannounced devices on public benchmark databases. More recently, an unknown LG H740 phablet has been spotted at GFXBench sporting mid-range specifications including an ARM Cortex-A53 Snapdragon 615 SoC with Adreno 405 graphics. The 5.7-inch device is listed with 2 GB RAM, a 1080p display, 12 or 13 MP rear camera, 5 MP front camera, Android 5.1.1, and just 8 GB of internal storage space. The usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS radios are included alongside NFC.
It's possible that LG may formally unveil the H740 alongside the V10 during an upcoming press event on October 1 in New York City. If so, then the South Korean manufacturer will have to overcome the inevitably loud word-of-mouth for the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, Lumia 950, and Google Nexus 5 refresh.
LG has been losing ground in the smartphone arena as rising Chinese manufacturers like Huawei and THL are quickly gaining market share. Xiaomi, for example, recently jumped ahead of LG as one of the world's largest smartphone manufacturers.
