The image seemingly confirms the previously leaked render images of the latest Google Nexus.

We had just reported on the leaked render images and video late last week which claim to represent the 2015 LG Nexus 5. Now, an actual snapshot of the alleged smartphone is making the rounds and shows just the backside of the new Nexus. The two leaks, though likely unrelated, show very similar features of the Nexus phone and are thus a bit more believable as far as unconfirmed images go.

The new post recognizes the protruding rear camera, dual LED Flash, and round fingerprint sensor that are present on last week's render. The phone carries the usual Nexus brand name on the back as well as the "Not for Sale" sticker, which could indicate a prototype. Another feature is the smooth and uninspiring plastic chassis, so users holding out for an aluminum unibody Nexus 5 may soon be disappointed.

The photo adds fuel to existing rumors of a 5.2-inch display with laser autofocus. Additional speculation include a 16 MP or 21 MP rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilizer).

After graduating with a B.S. in environmental hydrodynamics from the University of California, I studied reactor physics to become licensed by the U.S. NRC to operate nuclear reactors. There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
