South Korean giant LG has created a big hit with the G4 smartphone. Its high launch price of 600 Euros has bestowed it a uniquely curved design and premium quality materials to better distinguish itself from other flagship smartphones.
But how does the G4 look from under the hood? Is it as repairable as it is luxurious? The DIY professionals at iFixit have completely disassembled the G4 and have come to a surprisingly positive verdict.
The G4 is apparently quite easy to disassemble compared to other smartphones as the back cover and battery can be removed without special tools. Thanks to the simple construction, a standard Philips screwdriver can remove most components. This gives the LG G4 an 8 out of 10 on a scale of repairability.
In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge score 4/10 and 3/10, respectively, in the same iFixit scale.
