Kohler Numi 2.0 smart toilet arrives with motion-activated lid and built-in speakers
The Kohler Numi 2.0 smart toilet has been launched. The device, first unveiled at CES 2019, has many intelligent features. For example, the toilet lid can open or close thanks to motion activation, meaning you do not need to touch the device. The lid features Quiet-Close technology, and the bowl is misted before you use it for a more effective flush. You can choose colored ambient LED lighting to project onto the floor and wall around the toilet, which Kohler suggests could be helpful at night.
The Numi 2.0 has a built-in speaker system, and you can heat the seat to your choice of temperature. An accompanying stainless steel wand has various spray settings, such as temperature, water pressure and spray shape. A self-cleaning mode uses UV light and electrolyzed water to sanitize the device, and the smart toilet has automatic deodorization.
You can control the device via a remote, which you can mount on the wall next to the toilet, or use the Kohler Konnect app. The Numi 2.0 has a power-saving mode, and an emergency flush can be used up to 100 times in a power outage. You can currently buy the Kohler Numi 2.0 smart toilet for the discounted price of US$8,625; the product has an US$11,500 list price.
