Kia has announced the trim levels and pricing for its EV9 electric SUV in the Canadian market. The new model is the first three-row electric SUV from the brand, starting at CA$59,995 for the Light RWD model, which has a 215 hp motor and 19-in wheels. A full price list can be found below.
Options include switching the 76.1kWh battery in the Light trim for a larger 99.8kWh power pack, used in the Wind and Land versions. For the Wind, this increases the estimated range from 370 km (~230 miles) to 489 km (~304 miles). The Land is an AWD model, with the motors delivering 283 kW or 379 hp. This decreases the range to 451 km (~280 miles) for the Land and Land with Premium Pack or 435 km (~270 miles) for the Land GT-Line. Kia notes that a 10 to 80% charge of the EV9 takes around 25 minutes when using ultrafast DC chargers.
With the Land's Premium and GT-Line packages, you also pay for changes to the vehicle's exterior. For example, the GT-Line has a bridge-type roof rail, gloss black side mirrors, tweaks to the front and rear bumper design and 21-in lightweight alloy wheels. Customers in Canada can order the Kia EV9 electric SUV, with the first deliveries to dealerships expected in December. In other news, a leaked letter has revealed that Kia has asked dealers in the US to sell the EV9 at its MSRP.
