Less than a month after Keychron's last collaboration with the wildly popular Black Myth Wukong, it has revealed the Special Edition DayZ version of its regular Lemokey P1 HE (curr. $169.99 on Amazon). The new gaming keyboard takes everything great about Keychron and Lemokey's Hall-effect gaming keyboards and puts a DayZ spin on it with custom keycaps and a flashy metal knob.
Unlike the Black Myth Wukong keyboard we reported on previously, the DayZ Special Edition Wireless Keyboard — as it has officially been dubbed — relies on Hall-effect technology, not mechanical tech. These switches mean you might actually get a slight edge in competitive games, thanks to features like adjustable actuation, rapid trigger, and SOCD.
The Keychron DayZ Special Edition wireless keyboard is officially available for pre-order on the Keychron store for $179.99, and shipping is expected to start in October 2025.
Keychron DayZ Special Edition Wireless Gaming Keyboard specs and feature highlights
The DayZ Special Edition wireless keyboard is an exploded 75% form factor, meaning there is an F row, but there is no num pad, and the navigation cluster and overall footprint are slightly smaller than a typical TKL keyboard. To the chagrin of some, the right-side navigation cluster only has three keys — Home, Page Up, and Page Down — with one being replaced by the knob in the top right corner. It features wired, Bluetooth, and 2.4 GHz connectivity, with the wired and 2.4 GHz connections featuring 1,000 Hz polling for low latency.
While the most obvious stand-out feature of the DayZ wireless gaming keyboard is obviously the black, white, and red dye-sublimated PBT keycap set styled after in-game UI and art design, the most important features for gamers lie under the hood.
As we've mentioned in our Keychron K4 HE review, Keychron Launcher, the customisation suite, and the features it enables thanks to the Hall-effect switches in the keyboard, is a really well-polished, feature rich driver when it comes to customisation. It allows you to customise features like Rapid Trigger, SOCD, DKS, adjustable actuation point, analogue mode, and macro creation. The keyboard also has full north-facing per-key RGB backlighting, which provides a satisfying personalisation option. Keychron Launcher also allows for full keyboard remapping, including customising the knob's function, which is volume by default.
There are also a number of other visual nods to DayZ throughout the rest of the keyboard, like the custom printed DayZ sticker on the bottom of the case, the DayZ logo on the wireless antenna on the back of the keyboard, and the bright red metal knob styled after the in-game health indicator. The aforementioned keycaps are Cherry profile, so they should be easy to get used to for most users, and they should be comfortable for long typing or gaming sessions, as they're lower than the OEM profile typical of gaming keyboards.
Unfortunately, while the Keychron DayZ wireless keyboard is hot-swap compatible, it is only compatible with the Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic switches, which are only available on the Keychron Store at the time of writing. While these are excellent HE switches, exhibiting very little stem wobble and a rather pleasant typing sound, the limited compatibility does impact the customisation potential.
