Kellys has unveiled new Tygon and Tayen e-MTBs. The electric bicycles have a 90 Nm Panasonic GX Ultimate 2023 motor, weighing 2.9 kg (~6.4 lbs). AUTO mode allows the drive unit to adjust the assistance level based on your pedalling power for a more natural feeling ride. A Kellys V10 725 Wh battery is used on the bike, which weighs 3.7 kg (~8.2 lbs); the company claims that the power pack has the best capacity-to-weight ratio in the market at 194 Wh per kilo (~88 Wh per pound). You can fully recharge the battery in around six hours.
A Panasonic Bluetooth 5.0 color display shows your speed and battery charge level information. You can use the Komoot app to provide on-screen navigation, plus the unit is compatible with Wahoo and Strava. You can also use the display to trigger lights and various riding modes, including a walk mode, to assist you when transporting the bicycle on foot. Each model has a laser cut and robotically welded frame with boost thru-axles to enhance your ride.
The new Kellys Tygon and Kellys Tayen electric mountain bikes are available for purchase with prices starting from €2,999 (~US$3,124). A range-topping model such as the Kellys Tygon R90 P 725 Wh, which comes with a Rock Shox fork, Shimano hydraulic disc brakes and Schwalbe tires, costs around €4,000 (~US$4,166).
