Dorfromantik is not the only laid-back city builder. Pan'orama may be nowhere near as well known, but it has earned solid reviews and is currently available on Steam with an 85% discount for the first time.

When looking for a relaxing building game, many players probably think of Dorfromantik first. But Pan'orama fits neatly into the same niche, even if it is still flying largely under the radar. As part of the Summer Sale, Steam is offering the cozy game with an 85% discount for the first time, according to SteamDB, bringing the price down to $2.09 instead of $13.99.

In terms of gameplay, Pan'orama is less a classic city builder than a cozy tile puzzle. Round after round, players place hexagonal landscape tiles on a growing map and try to connect forests, fields, bodies of water, cities or mountains as sensibly as possible. The better the hexagons fit together, the more points players earn, which can then be spent on new buildings. There are no battles, resource-management stress or survival pressure. While Dorfromantik feels more pared-back and almost like a traditional board game, Pan'orama puts more emphasis on unlockable bonuses and small special effects.

The reviews are solid. On Steam, Pan'orama currently has around 1,350 reviews, 88% of which are positive. Pure Nintendo awarded it a strong 9 out of 10 and praised the relaxed gameplay with that typical “just five more minutes” feeling. The game also earns praise for its easy accessibility and high replay value. Pan'orama could also be interesting for playing on the go, as its Steam Deck compatibility is listed as “Playable.”
