Dishonored is a critically acclaimed stealth adventure known for its exceptional gameplay freedom. As part of the Summer Sale, the game is available with a 90% discount for the first time, bringing the price down to around $2.

Dishonored is made for players who like to handle missions their own way. Few games offer as much freedom as Arkane and Bethesda’s 2012 stealth adventure. For anyone who has not played it yet, Steam is now offering the best opportunity so far. According to SteamDB, the Summer Sale marks the first time the game has received a 90% discount on its regular price of around $20, making the Steam Deck-verified title available for roughly $2.

Dishonored puts players in the role of Corvo Attano, the former bodyguard of the Empress, who is falsely accused of her murder after her assassination. In search of the true conspirators, Corvo sets out on a quest for revenge through the grim steampunk city of Dunwall. Amid plague and political intrigue, players can sneak, assassinate or fight their way through the decaying industrial metropolis. What makes Dishonored special is how little it forces on the player. You can stay unseen, choke guards from the shadows and complete missions almost like a ghost. Or, if stealth is not your style, you can draw your blade, pistol and supernatural powers and leave plenty of chaos behind.

German gaming magazin PC Games awarded Dishonored an excellent 9 out of 10 in its review. The reviewers praised the game’s great gameplay freedom, excellent level design, atmospheric presentation in visuals and sound, and high replay value. Kotaku even described Dishonored as a “true masterpiece” on Steam. Visually, however, the stealth game was not exactly a technical showcase even back in 2012. Aside from minor AI flaws and a few rather pale supporting characters, PC Games found little else to criticize. On Steam, the game has more than 86,000 reviews with an unusually high average of 97% positive ratings. On Metacritic, Dishonored holds a Metascore of 88 and a User Score of 8.2.
