Indiegogo backers get fresh update on Ayaneo’s Snapdragon 8 Elite handheld

It has been more than six months since Ayaneo announced the Konkr Pocket Fit and Pocket Fit Elite, but unfortunately, the two devices have faced production and shipping delays. While Ayaneo has mostly fulfilled pre-orders of the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3-powered Konkr Pocket Fit, that hasn't been the case for the Konkr Pocket Fit Elite, which feaures the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite.
According to previous updates from Ayaneo, the Konkr Pocket Fit Elite faced delays, mainly due to supply chain issues, specifically, the rising cost of memory and storage. Its last update on the matter disclosed that shipments of the handheld will begin in March, three months after it was originally planned to be released. Now, it has provided a new update on the matter.
The new info comes via an update on the Indiegogo campaign page for the device, and it states that the Konkr Pocket Fit Elite will enter the production phase starting on March 17. Based on the production schedule, the first batch should begin shipping to backers by the end of March. Ayaneo says a more specific date will be announced once production commences.
Ayaneo also provided an update on the refund process for accessories. According to the manufacturer, the refund process will begin on March 15, and should reflect in backers' accounts within 3 to 5 business days. However, those who don't receive it after 7 business days are advised to contact the support team.
The Konkr Pocket Fit Elite has a 6-inch 1080p LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 8 Elite processor is paired with up to 24GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of expandable storage. There's an 8,000mAh battery inside the device, and it also features Hall Effect joysticks and triggers. The latter also sports trigger locks, so users can alternate between linear Hall Effect triggers and non-linear tactile triggers.
While Ayaneo hasn't announced a price increase for the Konkr Pocket Fit Elite, it most likely will do so after fulfilling all pre-orders, considering it said it had to pay almost 3 times the original price it budgeted for RAM just to ensure it fulfilled its orders.
