GameMT EX8: New budget handheld released globally in multiple colours

The GameMT EX8 is finally here after being teased in mid-October. Available from Royibeila for the time being, the EX8 comes in multiple colours and three memory card options at launch. In short, the new release seeks to rival a few small retro handhelds like the Powkiddy RGB50 and the Ayaneo Pocket Micro (curr. $229.99 on Amazon).
For instance, the EX8 features the same Helio G99 chipset as the Pocket Micro. A 6 nm chipset produced by MediaTek, the Helio G99 provides the EX8 with two Cortex-A76 and six Cortex-A55 CPU cores plus a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. Moreover, GameMT equips its latest handheld with a 3:2 display that outputs at 1,620 x 1,080 pixels with 520 nits peak brightness and a 60 Hz refresh rate.
This 4.88-inch display sits behind a full-width glass front that is joined by dual joysticks, a conventional d-pad and face buttons arranged in Nintendo's layout rather than Xbox's ABXY equivalent. An active cooling solution is on hand to prevent thermal throttling too, as is a 5,000 mAh battery that can be charged via a bottom-mounted USB Type-C port.
The GameMT EX8 starts at $139.99 in black or white finishes with no microSD card included in the box. Alternatively, the handheld can be configured with 64 GB or 128 GB cards for $149.99 and $164.99, respectively. All memory card options ship with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of built-in storage.
