Huawei tipped to release three new smartwatches before the end of the year, including one that can monitor your blood pressure
According to reports, Huawei is planning to release three new smartwatches before the end of the year. All three are slated to arrive in Q4 2021, which rules out September as a possible launch month. Nonetheless, @RODENT950 asserts that one of these smartwatches is the Watch D, a smartwatch for which Huawei recently filed a trademark with EUIPO.
While releasing its first smartwatch that can monitor blood pressure would be enough for some companies, Huawei is also tipped to release successors for both the Watch GT 2 and Watch FIT. Strictly speaking, the Watch 3 series succeeded the Watch GT 2 and Watch GT 2 Pro. However, @RODENT950 notes that Huawei will repurpose its GT branding for sports orientated smartwatches.
It will be interesting to see what Huawei brings to the table with the Watch FIT 2. The Watch FIT offers a 1.64-inch AMOLED display, 4 GB of eMMC flash storage and Bluetooth 5.0 LE connectivity. The Watch FIT already has an SpO2 sensor and a heart rate monitor too, two features that smartwatch manufacturers often turn to when refreshing a budget smartwatch such as the Watch FIT. Presumably, the Watch FIT 2 will run HarmonyOS 2 at the very least, as will the Watch D and Watch GT 3.
