Huawei has issued new updates to the Watch GT 2 and Watch FIT, two of its older smartwatches. According to Huawei Central, firmware version 11.0.14.53 has reached the former, although only for 1,800 people who agreed to participate in beta testing. If the beta test goes well, Huawei should roll out v11.0.14.53 to all devices within the next few weeks.
As the screenshot below shows, v11.0.14.53 introduces numerous changes, including the option for displaying running metrics in real-time on the smartwatch's always-on display (AoD). You must activate this feature in settings for it to appear, mind you. The Watch GT 2 can also synchronise workout data with third-party devices after updating to v11.0.14.53.
While the Watch GT 2 has received a 219 MB update, the Watch FIT's is only 6.49 MB. Both smartwatches now support the option of securing them with a password, though. Moreover, Huawei claims that v1.0.5.20 for the Watch FIT improves Bluetooth connection stability and system performance. Both updates will be available to download through the Huawei Health app, albeit only in China for the Watch FIT, as well.
