Huawei is rumored to have a third-gen foldable flagship smartphone in the works. This "Mate X3" is said to have one version with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and another with the Kirin 9000, although they might both lack the usual integrated 5G modem.
The X3 is thought to correspond to the model number PAL-AL00, which has indeed been registered by Huawei with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). This is often a sign that a smartphone will debut soon in the same country (at least), as is a certification from 3C.
Huawei has now also reportedly secured this form of documentation for the alleged X3, which also establishes that the device can charge at 66W, which would be pretty fast for a foldable phablet.
The technology might go with a battery of 4,500mAh in capacity. According to the leaker WHYLAB on Weibo, it will ship with HarmonyOS 2.0.1 out of the box, although the date on which it might first do so is still up in the air at this point.
