I really wanted this to be $600 to -$800 cheaper, I believe that will triple their potential buyers market and give the option to steal some Macbook users over to their platform. That’s really the only barrier for purchase that I can come up with, so if you’re happy with the price then buy one. If that is a barrier for you purchasing, there are plenty of very good options out there for between $1800 – $2600 where you’ll get an exceptionally good laptop still.

That’s it for this quick hands-on. The Huawei MateBook X Pro 2020 is a gorgeous, solid notebook though we still have to finish our full review to see how it stacks up to its competitors this 2020.

Huawei hasn’t changed much about the MateBook X Pro 2020, but then why would it? This was one of the best laptops you could buy last year, and the upgrade to 10th-gen chips and a lush new colour keep things that way.

The top of the line variant will come with the 10th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU, 16GB RAM and an NVIDIA MX250 GPU for 1,999 Euros. Touchscreens come standard with all variants of the MateBook X Pro which is a pleasant bonus indeed. For more official details keep an eye on Huawei’s official page at

The change list isn’t long for the Huawei MateBook X Pro’s 2020 refurbishment. And because of the government’s ban on Huawei, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to buy one in the United States any time soon. All the same, it’s a welcome batch of changes to a great laptop, and one you may want to consider if you’re on the lookout for a different kind of premium notebook.

While the changes are modest, the strong base means the Huawei MateBook X Pro remains an enticing laptop. I’m a big fan of the new colour and the bump in processor should lead to impressive performance.

Intel UHD Graphics 620: Integrated GPU (GT2, 24 EUs) found on some Kaby-Lake-Refresh CPU models (15 W ULV series). Technically identical to the previous Kaby-Lake GPU called HD Graphics 620.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

i5-10210U: Comet Lake based low power quad-core processor (technically identical to Whiskey Lake and still produced in 14nm++). The CPU cores can clock between 1.6 and 4.2 GHz (all 4 cores 3.9 GHz max.) with HyperThreading (8 threads). The integrated memory controller supports LPDDR4-2933 and using cTDP up/down the performance can be adjusted by the OEM (10 - 25 Watt possible, 15W default). Compared to the faster i5-10510U, the level 3 cache was reduced from 8 to 6 MB.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.
The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.

In 2014, Huawei established the Honor subsidiary brand under which certain smartphone lines are sold. The Huawei name is usually not listed for these products.
